The Don Hodge Memorial Scholarship

Superstars Writing Seminars (SSWS) is an intense business seminar—a drink-from-the-fire-hose deluge of real-world information designed to help attendees better navigate the pitfalls of publishing—targeted to serious writers looking to break in or enhance their career. This seminar can be a life-changing experience.

Superstars offers scholarships each year to writers who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial circumstances. Scholarships are funded by sales of anthologies published by WordFire Press (below) as well as by contributions from individuals. All monies received by the scholarship fund are distributed to scholarship winners in the form of SSWS registrations, without a single penny subtracted for administrative costs.

The scholarship fund has been renamed “The Don Hodge Memorial Scholarship” in honor of SSWS alumnus Don Hodge.

The deadline for scholarship applications for SSWS 2018 has passed. Scholarship recipients will be notified privately in November 2017. Please check back in summer of 2018 to submit an application for SSWS 2019.

galloped onto the scene, we hoped sales would fund a seminar scholarship. And they did. Two of them, in fact, for the 2015 seminar. But that’s not all. As sales mounted, we earned enough to fund several scholarships for the 2016 seminar.

Rule Them All
, WordFire Press once again teamed up with editor extraordinaire, Lisa Mangum from Shadow Mountain, the inimitable artist and author James Artemis Owen, and an eclectic menagerie of Superstars writers, both pro and soon-to-be pro, to bring you A Game of Horns: A Red Unicorn Anthology. As with the purple unicorn anthology, all proceeds are applied to the Superstars Writing Seminar scholarship fund.
